Stress Management

Coping and dealing with stress

WHAT IS STRESS MANAGEMENT

These services are geared towards assisting individuals, teams and other work groups and organizations to identify and manage stress optimally.  Causes of stress will depend on the individual – so what may cause stress for one person may not be stressful for another.

Stress can be both positive and negative.  It is a necessary part of life.  It is positive when the person perceives that the situation offers an opportunity for gain.  In this way it acts as a performance motivator.  Stress is negative (or called distress) when the person is in “a state of psychological and physiological imbalance resulting from the disparity between situational demand and the individual’s ability and motivation to meet those needs.”
